Community & Safety Rules
These rules help buyers and sellers use SellSpace9ja fairly and reduce avoidable marketplace risk.
Describe items honestly
Sellers should accurately describe an item's condition, known faults, functionality, and other information a reasonable buyer would need to assess it. Do not use misleading listings, photos, videos, or ownership claims.
Do not request prohibited advance fees
Do not ask a buyer to pay a viewing, inspection, reservation, unlocking, verification, agent, caution, delivery, commitment, or similar fee before the buyer has inspected the item. Buyers can report prohibited fee requests.
Keep pre-acceptance contact safe
Do not put phone numbers, WhatsApp details, email addresses, bank details, payment links, deposits, or other prohibited contact/payment instructions into listing or negotiation text before the accepted-offer handoff allows contact.
Respect the accepted-offer handoff
Sellers must complete the seller safety acknowledgement when required. Accepted buyers complete Safe Pickup before seller phone or WhatsApp contact is revealed. Buyers should contact sellers within the 48-hour handoff window.
If the seller does not hear from the buyer during the handoff window, the seller may release the reservation according to the marketplace controls. SellSpace9ja does not automatically cancel the reservation simply because the deadline passes.
Treat other users safely and respectfully
Harassment, threats, impersonation, scams, deliberate payment manipulation, unsafe conduct, or attempts to obtain passwords, OTPs, PINs, banking logins, or security codes are not allowed.
Use reporting honestly
Do not repeatedly report the same listing or transaction context, coordinate false reports, or use reports to punish someone for an unrelated disagreement. Reports should describe genuine marketplace or safety concerns.
Follow moderation decisions
Listings and accounts can be placed under temporary safety review while moderation investigates evidence. Eligible suspended users can request account review. Permanent bans can restrict future participation under the final moderation policy.
Attempts to evade a permanent ban can be subject to additional safety controls. Any future device-signal system must follow the privacy-limited rules described in SellSpace9ja's product and privacy policy before production use.
